Public benefits

Purpose One The direct benefits which flow from purpose 1 include increased physical activity leading to a higher standard of living and a better opportunity for growth by increasing educational standards. These benefits will be evidenced through feedback from families and children who attend the group. This purpose does not lead to harm. The

beneficiaries of this purpose are children and young persons living in Belfast who have a registered special need. A private benefit to trustees, staff and volunteers may arise from their special education training. Through this training the trustees, staff and volunteers gain skills and experience which are transferrable to other settings. These benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. Purpose Two The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the reduction of stress and anxiety among carers and families of children and young persons’ with a special need. These benefits are evidenced through feedback from siblings and parents. The purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are children and young persons’ living in Belfast who have a registered special need. They also include family members and carers of those children.

We exist to improve the quality of life of our special needs children and their brothers and sisters and also provide a support group for the parents.

Charitable purposes

The Group is established to relieve disability in Ballymacaret (hereinafter referred to as 'the area of benefit') and in particular; To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the education, recreation and leisure-time occupation of children and young persons suffering from autism, Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy and learning difficulties in Belfast. To foster mutual support among children and young persons suffering from autism, Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy and learning difficulties in Belfast.
