Public Benefit Statement On Census Day 27th March 2011, considering the population of the Borough of Limavady aged 16 years old and over: • 46.19% had no or low (Level 1*) qualifications. The direct benefit flowing from purpose 1: The raised aspirations of the unemployed or economically inactive through the provision of quality Community
Education and Training resulting in the development of new skills and an increased feeling of self-worth with a personal motivation towards achievement. These skills are often learned by second and third generation unemployed. Beneficiaries are therefore empowered in their ability to compete in the employment market which contributes to the alleviation of their personal poverty and to the economic development of the local community. The benefits of these activities are evidenced through the course evaluations and individual client feedback gathered during continual assessment reviews. One of the key benefits is the raised aspiration and motivation to change of our clients. The beneficiaries of RVCEF services are those residing in the borough of Limavady who face barriers to employment or education and training due to their individual circumstances. Through the oversight and governance of RVCEF services the Trustee/Executive committee may from time to time benefit from an increased awareness and understanding of the needs of the local community. This knowledge may be transferred to their involvement in other community arenas. This benefit is incidental to the provision of RVCEF services however is beneficial to the wider community of Limavady through the transfer of knowledge and understanding. The direct benefits from purpose 2: Are: An improved confidence in the individual ability to secure paid employment resulting in the alieviation of personal poverty. With this comes a developed community engagement and social awareness within the local area following interventions that address personal challenges and family life. The aim is to develop a greater motivation to work in order to lift from poverty the clients that RVCEF engage with while developing their capacity to understand and respect difference. The beneficiaries are women, young people and all other socially and economically disadvantaged individuals within the area and the wider community, who ultimately will reside in a more respectful and tolerant society. Through the oversight and governance of RVCEF services the Trustees/Executive committee may from time to time benefit from an increased awareness and understanding of the needs of the local community this knowledge may be transferred to their involvement in other community arenas. Our mission ‘Our mission is to serve the community of the Roe Valley alongside statutory agencies and private business. To provide successful delivery of development programmes and to promote continued education while impacting on the Borough’s economic development. To act as a signposting facility for alternative services and to promote social
inclusion for all, regardless of gender, religious belief, political opinion, race, age, marital status or sexual orientation. RVCEF Activities Activities at Roe Valley Community Education Forum • To provide: Training, both vocational and workshop based learning: Levels 1,2 & 3 in Business Admin Customer service Essential skills ICT Management and supervisory • To offer free careers education and guidance services • To offer free personal development services including: Mentoring Job search Personal development planning. • To work with the schools in the borough of Limavady to ensure collaborative services including careers, essential skills and employability for those who will potentially enter the NEETS groups. • Fundraise for identified charities and support these charities in our activities • To provide government employability programmes including the DEL employment programmes • To write deliver and tender for funding through ESF to deliver training and employment programmes that develop individuals and create opportunities for employment and personal growth. • To deliver services on behalf of other like minded organisations in order to increase prosperity within our client groups. The services of the organisation are offered to all members of the Limavady Borough including those who are unemployed, disengaged, those who feel they have been let down by the education system and those who find themselves within the economically inactive groups of our community.

Charitable purposes
The Charity’s objects (“Objects”) are specifically restricted to the following: To promote the benefit of the inhabitants in Limavady and its environs (hereinafter called the ‘area of benefit’) without distinction of age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious opinion by associating the statutory authorities, schools, community and voluntary organisations, businesses, and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to relieve unemployment and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants and in particular: (a) to provide, or assist in the provision of, programmes of education, including accredited and vocational training designed to improve the employability of young people, women and any other socially or economically disadvantaged people in the area of benefit; (b) to provide education, training, social and recreational activities to enhance the personal development and develop the capacities and the skills of young people, women and any other socially or economically disadvantaged individuals in the area of benefit.
