PURPOSE - To benefit the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland in Ireland. BENEFIT STATEMENT - The direct benefits which flow from the purpose include:- - the effective operation of the Church as a denomination in whole or in part - enhancements to the fabric of Churches and church property. It is not considered that any harm is caused

by or flows from our purpose. The Charity's beneficiaries are:- - The communities in Ireland in which the Churches of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland operate - The congregations of the Church who receive loans or grants from the Fund to assist with the up-keep of churches and church property The Trustees all serve in a pro bono capacity and therefore there is no private benefit save that the Honorary Secretary and the Honorary Treasurer are each entitled to claim and to be paid a honorarium of £50 each year. They may also be reimbursed for legitimate expenditure incurred on behalf of the Fund. The Fund will, from time to time, also meet the cost of college fees, books etc and where necessary accommodation costs for residential courses for student ministers there-by potentially creating a private benefit for the students.

What your organisation does

It receives applications from congregations of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland for loans and/or grants to assist with the up-keep of churches and church property. The Trustees consider any such applications and if considered appropriate will make an interest free loan for a fixed period of years to the applicant congregation. It

may also consider making a non-repayable grant to an applicant congregation or to any other relevant arm of the Church if so requested and if the Trustees consider it appropriate so to do.

Extract from the last will dated 27 January 1970 of Ellen Bright late of "Stoneview", Templepatrick, County Antrim - Widow who died on 8 May 1970. Subject to payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses I DEVISE AND BEQUEATH the residue of my estate to the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland Trustees to be used for the benefit of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland as the Trustees may in their sole discretion decide. The said bequest is made to perpetuate the memory of my son Squadron Leader John Alexander Bright R.A.F.V.R. the Pilot of a Bomber lost over Wilhelmshaven on the Nineteenth/Twentieth day of February One Thousand nine hundred and forty-three aged Twenty-four years
