Public benefits

In relation to all of the purposes of The Bushmills & District Community Association, the direct benefits can include; the relief of poverty, the relief of sickness, the promotion of benefits to the aged both socially and educationally. The Bushmills & District Community Association will do this by providing traditional and modern crafting classes

to enable older people to get out and about within their own community and in so doing help to reduce social and rural isolation. Other activities will help to encourage community involvement and provide a better quality of life, health and wellbeing for service users, including those with both physical and mental disabilities. In addition, The Bushmills & District Community Association will involve members of the Association, volunteers, carers and the wider community in a common effort to tackle poverty, deprivation, and relief of sickness, loneliness and associated problems. These benefits can be demonstrated through consultation from members of the Bushmills & District Community Association and through other feedback and evaluation exercises from other groups and participating members. The Bushmills & District Community Association will be working with other Public Bodies at a strategic level and also associating with other local voluntary and community groups to ensure that ongoing community problems both on an individual and collective basis are taken on board. This will be achieved through programmes and projects like the Community Pharmacy Project, Keep Fit Programmes and Crafting Classes all of whom support the work of our Association and help to provide real life solutions for all associated with the programmes. In relation to all of the above, the beneficiaries of The Bushmills & District Community Association are all people living in and around Bushmills and its environs. As Bushmills is within one of the main tourist areas on the North Antrim Coast, many visitors including those from within Northern Ireland have holiday homes and can therefore take part in organised programmes of activity. In particular but not exclusive of others, those attending the activities may include; people facing difficulties, the bereaved, the depressed, the elderly, and carers. There are no harms resulting from any of the purposes. No person connected with this organisation gains a private benefit which is more than incidental to carrying out the purposes.
