What your organisation does

The Braid Community association aims to turn the former Old Braid Primary School into a community centre, offering classes and a meeting place where people of all ages can get together and interact as currently there is no cross community space available in the area, and in so doing reduce the effects of rural isolation and improve over all health

of the community. This space is available to people of all creeds and ethnic backgrounds regardless of age, disability or other disadvantage. We plan to offer computer and art classes, set up a youth and over 60’s clubs and run ongoing health and fitness events while seeking funding for other cross community projects as available. The space is available for hire, at a nominal fee, by all members of the community and the committee are looking at setting up classes and groups as the community request or which are shown to be needed, as and when the need arises.
