Public benefits
Purpose 1: the relief of poverty The direct benefit which flows from this purpose includes that people lead more comfortable lives in their own homes through the provision of items such as clothing, utensils, bedding, beds, furniture and wheelchairs. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from our beneficiaries. We know from families
telling us that they had nowhere else to turn for help as they had exhausted all statutory services. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are local people who are in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability or financial hardship. There is no private benefit. Purpose 2: provide humanitarian aid The direct benefit which flows from this purpose includes that children and adults receive the correct diagnosis and as a result obtain the best available treatment enabling them to stay at home with their family. These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from our beneficiaries, government statistics and reports from Moldova. Having listened to parents it is apparent that they have tried to get help from other sources, but as a result of our donations to Voinicel they (families/parents) have got a proper diagnosis or answers to their questions concerning their child. This purpose does not give rise to any harm. The beneficiaries of this purpose are people in Moldova. There is no private benefit.
What your organisation does
At home we have a warehouse to which items are donated, some of these items are sold, in our shop, however we do donate back into our local community some of the donated items, these items are everyday things that many families and individuals take for granted but many in our local community do not have. Clothes, bedding, shoes, cooking utensils,
and furniture, i.e. beds depending on need and our ability to supply at the time, from our shop. We partner with Voinicel Centre in Chisinau, Moldova. We purchase items used in the diagnoses of disabled children, both medical and non-medical. The purpose of the Centre is to work with the children, and their family to keep the children at home with the families instead of being institutionalized. The Centre works mainly with children from 0 to 4 years old. More information can be found at http://voinicel.md/en
