What your organisation does

Our organisation has been involved in environmental improvements including a current project to revitalise the village. We have also recently set up a historical society to encourage an interest in our past and let the people know more about their social history. We have a yearly programme of cleaning up litter and taking care of summer flowering.

We have computer classes aimed at all ages but particulartly the older generation. We run a youth club where we aim to provide a programme of healthy exercise through games and other skills in craft work etc. We have a Pharmacy Project to encourage local people to look after their health through becoming more acquainted with their pharmacist and to participate in walking and other exercise. We issue an quarterly newsletter to let the community know what is going on and what is palnned. We are involved in a programme of recruiting more volunteers and increasing interest in the village. We work with the local schools and businesses in encouraging everyone to be litter conscious. We seek to inform the villagers through Information clinics involving the CAB and PSNI. We also inform through a quarterly newsletter. We also work with local traders who support our fundraising efforts through sponsoring prizes. The traders also sponsor the prizes for a local "Best kept garden " competition. We also work with other organisations in the village e.g. the scouts and the Women's Institute who assist with environmental work. We also lobby for the provision of parking facilities at our local train station and we also work with statutory bodies such as the Roads Service to implement improvements in the village infrastructure.
