Public benefits

Little Saints Parent and Toddler Group benefits all children under statutory school age and their parents/carers by providing an educational facility on a Tuesday each week. Members come from Londonderry's Cityside, Waterside and the outlying areas. The Group is open to all parents/carers who come along and complete our registration form without

being associated with any statutory, voluntary, community or religious organisations. We are on the Early Years list of Parent & Toddler Groups which all parents can avail of. Children benefit from a Safe Indoor play environment for pre-school children where the equipment is checked daily and an opportunity for children to gain educational experiences while using play activities recommended by Early Years and be supported by their parents/carers. They gain social skills and learn to socialise with other children in group activities while having their parent/carer nearby. They also take physical exercise by using the slide, and push alongs. A healthy snack of toast, fruit and yogurts is provided. Parents /carers can meet other Parents/Carers and to gain support from each other and being members of early years the group benefits from visits of their advisors on a regular basis. There is no private benefit to any individual members of the group and all services are provided voluntarily. There is no harm from the purpose. We follow Early Years Guidelines and do everything in our power to ensure the safety of the children attending.

What your organisation does

Little Saints is a friendly informal Parent and toddler group where parents/carers can meet others in a safe environment, make friends and play with their children. There are a variety of toys and activities for babies and toddlers to enjoy, including play dough, paints, crafts and rhyme time. Refreshments are provided for adults and toddlers. A

Christmas party is organised and each child gets a little present. Teddy Bears picnic and an outing are organised in the summer. Volunteers lay out the playroom and provide the snack.
