Public benefits
Having an active PTA which is able to fundraise, provide a number of events and activities for pupils at Moneynick school and their families, fund additional resources for the school and build links with the local community. Supporting the educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school through the provision of resources, events and
activities. We can demonstrate our benefit by having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This can also be demonstrated by pupils having access to resources, events and activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. The purpose of our PTA does not lead to harm in achieving our benefit. The beneficiaries being the children at Moneynick Primary School. Charity trustees ( PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
The Friends of Moneynick is comprised of parents, staff and friends of Moneynick Primary School. As a group we meet three times a term and on an ad-hoc basis as required when organising particular events. The objectives of our group are to support the school community through fund-raising and organising events which bring the whole school community
together. The aim of our organisation is to promote our school within the community to benefit all children who attend the school and to enhance community cohesion and provide support for parents and extended families after school hours. The friends of Moneynick have enabled children who live in the area with opportunities to take part in extra-curricular activities such as drama, music and dance which they otherwise would have not the chance to do. We have provided; Family fun days - an annual social event for our rural community of family and friends coming together. Equipment for Mothers and Toddlers group, afterschools club, external school environment. Funding for transport to and from activities for all children. Payment of external agencies, for example Hullabaloo drama, Joe of the Gathering Drums. Social afternoon for Grandparents day - bluebell tea. ICT equipment for children within the school who have special Educational needs.
