Public benefits
Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PTFA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. This purpose does not lead
to harm. The benefit is for children at Moat Primary School. Charity trustees (PTFA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. This purpose does not lead to harm. The benefit is for children at Moat Primary School. Charity trustees (PTFA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.
What your organisation does
Our PTFA is made up of a group of elected parents and staff. Our school principal is our Honorary President. As a group we aim to include all parents and staff in our operation. We do this by inviting parents and staff to share their skills and help at our events, for example face painting at our Summer Fete or helping serve refreshments at our
Christmas Fair, Sports day, or becoming quiz master at one of our quiz nights. We believe that good communication is the key to our PTFA success and we publish regular newsletters and updates are available on teh school website. We also welcome feedbackfrom parents and the wider community. are Our calendar of events includes a movie nights, Bags 2 school, quiz nights Family Fun Day, Cookery nights, Football tournaments, cycles end of year Summer BBQ. We work closely with local community businesses and welcome their support and participation at our events including our annual Christmas Fair and Summer Fete. Our PTFA also offer a programme of activities throughout the school year including after compiling a cookery book; trips to the Opera House or cinema; design your own Christmas Card for the children, a School Calendar and competitions. The PTFA agree expenditure of funds raised with the school principal to ensure the maximum benefit to all our pupils.
