Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from the first purpose is to provide continuous support through providing educational resources and training to young people in the Aghadrumsee area, who face isolation due to their location, lack of infrastructure, poor employment opportunities leading to deprivation, to embrace opportunities provided by formal
education. We meet the public benefit requirement because we are a group of volunteers who come together with a common purpose to support Aghadrumsee Primary School and advance the education of the pupils attending. These benefits will be evidenced through a raising of pupil achievement and attainment, this will include pupils with additional learning needs and pupils who are gifted and talented. This will ensure all pupils will achieve their potential to the highest possible level. Incidental private benefits may arise in the form of expertise and skills developed by the trustees in organising events and may be transferrable to other settings. The direct benefits which flow from the second purpose will be achieved when Aghadrumsee Primary PTFA organise events that will educate/entertain and promote a spirit of friendliness within the wider community. When such events have an element of fund-raising, funds will be used to purchase educational resources or equipment for children attending the school and also by the wider community. All ages will be able to participate in such events and will continue to contribute to life long learning in an atmosphere of trust and respect. The direct benefits which flow from the third purpose is to celebrate the positive achievements in the local area and raise the profile and its inherent value to provide hope and future opportunities. These benefits will be evidenced through parents and the community becoming more involved in children's education and celebrating their achievements, for example, attendance at the annual end of year service where achievement is celebrated. There is no harm flowing from our purposes and no private benefit. The beneficiaries are the pupils of the school.
What your organisation does
Aghadrumsee Primary PTFA is made up of parents, teacher and friends associated with the school. We strive to ensure that the high quality education is maintained in the Aghadrumsee area to benefit life long learning for all age groups. The main focus is to support Aghadrumsee Primary School in providing a broad and balanced curriculum for its
pupils as well as extracurricular activities to enhance the health, social and emotional well being of its pupils. It also facilitates and supports the pupils as they make meaningful and lifelong links within the wider community. Aghadrumsee Primary PTFA organise fundraising events to promote community cohesion and is open to include family, children as well as the isolated and vulnerable members of our community. This promotes mutual understanding within this isolated and rural area. We seek agreement from Aghadrumsee Primary PTFA committee members as well as feedback from participants on regular events, purchases and operations. There will be no harm flowing from our purposes.
