Public benefits

The Trust exists to prevent and relieve poverty, suffering and distress, advance education and to promote, preserve and protect the health of the inhabitants of Romania, in particular Timiosara, who are in need of assistance as a result of their poverty or social or economic circumstances, by means of financial support and voluntary work. The

benefits flowing from this purpose are an increased quality of life and a greater life expectancy of people in Timiosara who are in poverty and affected by challenges such as poor health and lack of access to medical care by supporting them to access treatments, providing medicines and subsidising medical care. Additionally, through the provision of water wells, food, clothing and other goods, beneficiaries are able to access clean water and to continue to care for themselves and their families further improving their quality of life. These benefits may be demonstrated through feedback from beneficiaries as to the improvements in their living conditions and the increasing number of individuals who have access to clean water and medical treatments that would not otherwise have been available. The beneficiaries of this purpose are the inhabitants of Romania, and in particular Timiosara, who are in need as a result of poverty, and social or economic circumstances. From its base in Northern Ireland, the Trust sends financial resources together with volunteers and assistance to its projects and people. The Trust seeks to take into consideration issues such as local culture and traditions as well as advice, information and views from local groups and representatives when making decisions as to how to benefit the local community in order to prevent any potential harm from flowing from the purpose of the Trust. There is no private benefit flowing from this purpose. The Trustees make periodic visits to oversee the work carried out in Romania, at their own expense, in order to provide a check on the financial affairs of the overseas work and provide support and encouragement to the local community.
