Public benefits
The purpose for which Cairde Cheathrú na Gaeltachta is established is to advance education through the medium of the Irish Language for the benefit of the general public with particular focus on promoting interest in Irish culture by encouraging the development and improvement of a Gaeltacht Quarter and wider community use of the language. The
direct benefits which flow from the purpose include improvements and uptake in the use of the Irish language and other educational outcomes; for example, enhanced knowledge and understanding amongst young people (through receiving education) in art, drama, sport and music as well as greater cohesion amongst the Irish language community. These benefits can be evidenced through attendance at events such as after-school education groups and summer schools, the feedback received from participants at such events and regular monitoring and evaluation reports carried out for funders. The beneficiaries are all or any members of the general public interested in taking part in educational activities delivered through the medium of the Irish language. Such activities are directly provided or encouraged by Cairde Cheathrú na Gaeltachta. There is no risk of harm and no private benefit arising out of the purposes.
