Health: Purpose: to improve health outcomes in the general population. Direct benefit flowing from this purpose is improved health in the general population. This can be demonstrated by the advances in the treatment of medical conditions e.g. cancer. The charity's beneficiaries are registered medical charities who are dedicated to improving the
health of the general population through research projects and the training of medical staff. No private benefit flows from this purpose. Arts & Culture: Purpose: To help promote the playing of musical instruments. Direct benefit flowing from this pupose is that young people have access to musical tuition in a wide range of instruments. This can be demonstrated by several local concerts given by bands who are encouraging youth participation. The charity's beneficiaries are local bands who help children and young people access instrumental tuition locally. No private benefit flows from this purpose. Community Development: Purpose: To help promote community relations and the conservation of historical buildings. Direct benefit flowing from this purpose is that people from various traditions are encouraged to mix together and historical buildings are restrored and not allowed to fall into disrepair. This can be demonstrated by local people mixing more, improved facilities which encourage that to happen as well as the preservation of historical buildings. The charity's beneficiaries are local groups who are contributing to their community by promoting better community relations and enhancing the local environment. No private benefit flows from this purpose. No harm arises from these purposes.
What your organisation does
In 1994 Dr W D G McCord and his wife Margaret Ethne established a charitable trust (The Granary Trust) to receive monies, either by way of subscription, donation, bequest or otherwise and to pay, apply or appropriate the whole of the said monies to charitable purposes in the United Kingdom. Annual Accounts to be kept by the Trustees of monies
received from each donor together with repayments of tax in respect thereof and of monies paid out to each charitable cause. The Granary Trust accepts donations and distributes money to any charitable organisation contributing to or promoting any of the above.

Charitable purposes
To pay, apply or appropriate the whole of the said monies to charitable purposes in the United Kingdom so that the time, manner and head or heads under which the payment, application or appropriation of the said monies shall be made and the particulars of such payment, application or appropriation shall be as may be notified by the Donor or Donors to the Trustees in writing or failing any such notification for all or portion of monies received from a Donor or Donors in such manner as the Trustees may in their absolute discretion determine.
