Public benefits
The benefit is to anyone in the public with a learning disability seeking to join the Club and all existing members. There is no harm and no private benefit. 1. Undertaking leisure activities allows the beneficiaries to undertake different physical games and activities which increases physical fitness, energy levels, sleeping, confidence
and core strength, which is very important to the health of our members. 2. Undertaking games allows our members to work in teams which is important for communication and active listening and allows members to learn new skills. 3. Physical games and sports supports members who may have weight issues to monitor this and have the confidence to address any issues with support. 4. Physical activities has also improved self-esteem and social awareness for our members. 5. Undertaking trips outside of the home, club and local areas allows our members to increase their personal and group confidence and supports parents/carers to undertake trips with a greater sense of security. 6. Arts and crafts activities allows our members, especially those who may struggle with mainstream communication, the ability to express themselves and communication with their family and friends. 7. As the club is based in an isolated rural area, the club allows both members and their families often the only contact they may have outside of their immediate circle. 8. Social interaction with others can support significant personal development through increasing inter personal skills, confidence, communication skills and group interaction skills.
