Public benefits

Advancement of Education: The direct benefits arising from this purpose will include improved levels of literacy and numeracy, emotional literacy through inter-generational involvement, and indirectly will create an increased sense of self-worth, self-awareness, confidence and future employability. These benefits will be measured by one or more of

the following: • Recording numbers enrolled on programmes • Level of attendees retained on courses throughout duration • % attendees completing programmes • Tracking accreditation or certification for programmes of study • Production of pieces of work for exhibition and dissemination • Best practice with new groups • Numbers trained as facilitators of original programmes • Evolution of new courses responding to needs • Rolling engagement on programmes • Development of a strategy for self-sustaining models • Training of new community trainers • Tracking of participants progressing into further education or employment • Interviews with participants • Qualitative measures of analysis No harm will arise from this purpose. The beneficiaries from this purpose will be children and young people, adults and the elderly. Trustees will receive no private benefit. Promotion of health and wellbeing: The direct benefits arising from this purpose will include improved levels of uptake in participation in sport, with the consequent health benefits from increased levels of exercise. It will also offer the direct benefits of increased self-confidence, skill acquisition and community integration. These benefits will be measured by: • Recording numbers enrolled on programmes • Production of collective and/or individual pieces of work for exhibition • Staging of shows and productions • Interviews with individuals who have engaged in programmes and feedback or their sense of benefit or otherwise from the process No harm will arise from this purpose. The beneficiaries from this purpose will be children and young people, adults and the elderly. Trustees will receive no private benefit. Provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare: Direct benefits will include increased and improved use of the existing facilities of Cedar Integrated Primary School by the wider community of Crossgar, Killyleagh and Downpatrick, with the consequent benefit of the provision of a “Neutral” space for these target areas Future developments will include the creation of new facilities for public use. These benefits will be measured by: • Recording of usage data • Attendee evaluation feedback No harm will arise from this purpose. The beneficiaries from this purpose will be children and young people, adults and the elderly. Trustees will receive no private benefit. Social Inclusion: Direct benefits will include the improvement of social interaction among groups within the area with the consequent potential for improved social cohesion. These benefits will be measured by: • Recording of attendance from difference geographical areas • Measurement of interaction with diverse groups within the area of benefit. No harm will arise from this purpose. The beneficiaries from this purpose will be children and young people, adults and the elderly. Trustees will receive no private benefit.

What your organisation does

Cedar One Community will provide facilities and events for the local community in the areas of education, leisure and sport. Initially using Cedar Integrated Primary School's facilities, the charity will provide learning opportunities in literacy and numeracy, IT and other areas for the target groups. In addition, Cedar One Community will create

programmes for leisure, sporting and recreational purposes for use by people in the target areas. It is the intention of the charity to develop new facilities to enhance and augment the quality of the experience in these fields.

Charitable purposes

The company's objects ("Objects") are specifically restricted to the advancement of education and the promotion of the health and wellbeing of the inhabitants (hereinafter called the "beneficiaries") of Crossgar, and its environs of Killyleagh and Downpatrick (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") by associating the school, statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants and in particular: (a) to support social inclusion and promote the wellbeing of those living in the area of benefit through the provision of educational, social and recreational activities.
