Purpose 1 - to seek the benefit and enhancement of the mental, emotional and physical health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Northern Ireland. The benefits which flow from this purpose include improved health and wellbeing outcomes for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Northern Ireland. This

benefit is measured through the completion of questionnaires, monitoring and evaluation forms as well as through surveying lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender people. The beneficiaries of this purpose are members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Northern Ireland. There is no harm flowing from this purpose and private benefit. Purpose 2 - to advance education and awareness by way of research, provision of advocacy services, development, assessment and deployment of information and education services. The benefits which flow from this purpose include increasing individual and collective knowledge and understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Northern Ireland. This benefit is measured through the completion of post-training questionnaires as well as through surveying lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender people. The beneficiaries of this purpose are members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and their families in Northern Ireland as well as professionals who work with this group. There is no harm flowing from this purpose and no private benefit. Purpose 3 - to provide care and support services, counselling services, clinical services and advice relevant to health, particularly sexual health, and wellbeing. The benefits which flow from this purpose include improved health and wellbeing outcomes for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Northern Ireland. This benefit is measured through the completion of questionnaires, monitoring and evaluation forms as well as through surveying lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender people. The beneficiaries of this purpose are members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Northern Ireland. There is no harm flowing from this purpose. The private benefit flowing from this purpose is that gained by a Trustee who also identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender and accesses these services. The Trustee requests to access services in the same way as all other beneficiaries therefore it is incidental. Purpose 4 - to promote the equality and rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The benefits which flow from this purpose include the promotion of equality and diversity by tackling discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. This benefit is evidenced through surveying lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender people and official statutory body and government statistics. The beneficiaries of this purpose are members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Northern Ireland. There is no harm flowing from this purpose and no private benefit.

What your organisation does

Purpose 1 - to advance education and awareness by way of research, provision of advocacy services, development, assessment and deployment of information and education services. The Rainbow Project carries out regular research into the experiences and needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Northern Ireland. We also provide

education support services to young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people who are not in employment, education or training. We also provide representation on key issues impacting on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Northern Ireland to health professionals, service providers and employers. Purpose 2 - to provide care and support services, counselling services, clinical services and advice relevant to health, particularly sexual health, and wellbeing. The Rainbow Project provides counselling, befriending, personal development and other health and wellbeing services to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Northern Ireland. We also provide rapid HIV and Syphilis testing as well as promoting and facilitating outreach sexual health clinics in partnership with the hospital services to high risk sex environments. Purpose 3 - to promote the equality and rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The Rainbow Project campaigns and lobbies central and local government, and other statutory agencies, on issues pertinent to the equality and rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Northern Ireland including the development of a Sexual Orientation Strategy and Action Plan, equality of opportunity and protections from violence.
