Accessibility
The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland wants everyone to be able to use its website. This page explains how we make our site accessible and the different ways you can access our content.
Accessibility Standards
The Commission design our website so as many people as possible can use it. The site follows international web standards (W3C). If you have any problems using the site or have ideas to make it better, please contact us.
Finding Your Way Around
Each page shows a “breadcrumb trail” to help you see where you are on the site. For example, if you’re on the “Starting a new charity” page under “Register your charity” it will show:
Home > Register your charity > Starting a new charity
You can also click on these links to go back to earlier pages.
Changing Setting on Your Computer
You can adjust your computer settings - like your browser, screen, mouse, or keyboard—to make websites easier to use. For more help, visit the BBC My Web My Way website (external link).
Making the Site Easier to See
If the text is too small or the colours are hard to read, you can switch to a high contrast version of the site and make the text bigger. Just use the panel in the top right corner of the screen.
Screen readers
The Commission's website works with most popular screen readers, which help people with disabilities access online content. If you find that your screen reader doesn’t work well with our site, please contact us.
You can learn more about screen readers and other helpful tools on the Abilitynet website (external link).
