CyberNI Week 2024

Did you know it is CyberNI Week 2024? This week, from 4 to 10 March 2024, will see the Northern Ireland Cyber Security Centre (NICSC) offer a range of events to raise cyber security awareness locally.

Cyber security is aimed at protecting the devices we all use, such as tablets, smartphones and laptops, as well as preventing unauthorised access to the personal data we store on these devices, and online. According to research from the NICSC, one in four charities have experienced a cyber attack in the last 12 months. That is why it is more important than ever to take steps to prevent cyber criminals from getting hold of your accounts, data, and devices. To mark CyberNI Week 2024, please find below a presentation offering advice and tips on how to best protect your charity.

If your charity has uncovered a cyber security issue or been the victim of a cyber crime, then you should also be aware of our serious incident reporting guidance (available online by clicking here) where you will see how you can let the Commission, as the charity regulator, know what has happened and how it is being managed. You should, of course, also alert Action Fraud, and the PSNI.
