Public benefits

The benefits provided by the organisation are the advancement of education through creation, and continuance of activities and clubs for the students of Portora Royal School, and other schools in the vicinity which would not otherwise be achievable. Many of the clubs provide opportunities for students who do not engage easily with some of the more

mainstream activities and therefore offers opportunities for them to engage socially with fellow students in activities outside of the more formal classroom environment. Such activities raise confidence and morale amongst the participants which in turn tends to lead to better overall performance by the individuals. Funding has been made available to provide extended facilities within existing clubs, which in turn has led to increased success by the clubs and greater recognition within the community thus attracting additional memberships from other local schools. Not only does this involves greater participation in the activity but also promotes cross community relations which may otherwise not be addressed. Individual students can also benefit through grant funding to pursue educational trips or attend interviews or auditions in connection with their chosen university/ career path. Benefits are identifiable through increasing diversity of activities available for students, increased numbers participating in various activities and also awards won by students taking part in events which had previously been unachievable. No private benefit has been identified in connection with this organisation nor have the purposes been deemed to lead to any harm.
