Public benefits

The Advancement of Citizenship and Community Development. The benefits that flow from the purpose are: 1) The improvement of social and community infrastructure , encouraging people to become active in a voluntary capacity and increase community participation through provision of socialising opportunities for the inhabitants of Drumlough and

District locality i.e. Ulster Scots, St Patrick's night and quiz events. 2) Educational; the development of peoples knowledge, skills and self confidence through providing a range of educational opportunities especially for older people, I.E. cookery, health eating and nutrition, IT skills and physical activities. Thus improving their quality of life. The above purposes will not lead to any harm. A private benefit to trustees may arise from our programme of training/activities. Trustees may gain skills which are transferable to other settings. Theses benefits are incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to our beneficiaries. These benefits are demonstrated though the numbers using our facilities/activities and participation feedback. In order to ensure the poor are not excluded and are enabled to use our services, no fees are charged for these activities.

What your organisation does

The Association provides opportunities for the inhabitants of the local rural area to socialise and learn in a cross community environment. We provide weekly activities in the Tullynore Community Hall which is regarded as a shared space. We provide Educational and Health classes to increase the skills of the participants. We would provide

socialising events throughout the year including St Patricks and Ulster Scots night. Annual fun run and road race, Christmas and New year events, weekly walking group ending with BBQ.

Charitable purposes

Objects 2.1 The Association has been established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the Drumlough and district locality (hereinafter described as the area of benefit) without distinction of age, sex, race, ability, political, religious or other opinion, by association the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare, for the recreation or other time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
