Public benefits
The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include the education and development of present and future pre-school children (Beneficiaries) in our care, without distinction. The children in the group develop skills in the six area of learning required by the Dept. of Education’s (NI) Pre-School Expansion Programme including Social Integration,
Emotional Wellbeing, Language skills and the enhancement of knowledge relating to Early Maths, The Arts and The World Around Us. Other beneficiaries include the Parents/Carers of the children who are confident their children are receiving a purposeful Pre-School Education in a safe and healthy environment. The benefits are evidenced through the children’s developmental progression, Parental feedback through biannual questionnaires, evaluations of our group by an Independent Early Years Specialist and positive inspection reports from Social Services (Annually) and the Dept. of Education (NI) who stated in our last report in May 2015 ‘The organisation is meeting very effectively the educational and pastoral needs of the children and has demonstrated it’s capacity for sustained self-improvement.' The fees of the Playgroup are reasonable, open and non-exclusive and there are no anticipated harms arising from our purposes. The Management Committee hold fundraising events throughout the year to help keep fees to a minimum. Staff employed by the playgroup receive a private benefit in the form of training and development which is necessary to carry out the purposes. Management Committee Members (Trustees) may also receive a private benefit in the form of training and experience which can be transferred to other settings. These benefits are incidental but necessary to keep the group functioning.
