Public benefits
The National Youth Choir of Northern Ireland promotes choral music education to people in Northern Ireland aged 14-24 through a series of school workshops, residential music courses, concerts and master classes. The direct benefit which flows from this purpose is that young singers in Northern Ireland have access to high quality choral training
as well as providing opportunities to perform at concerts in Northern Ireland and beyond. The benefits are evidenced through improved singing and musicianship skills supporting GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate music study. The benefits are also evident as the choirs open opportunities for its members to collaborate and perform with other youth choirs across the UK and Ireland. There is no risk of harm flowing from our benefits. The charities beneficiaries are young singers aged 14-24 who reside or study in Northern Ireland. The only private benefit flowing from this purpose is that trustees receive training in related areas such as child safeguarding, risk management and fund raising. Through this training trustees gain skills and experience which are transferable to other settings however these are incidental and necessary because they are required for good governance.
