Public benefits
Whilst a public benefit statement has been provided the Commission has relied on other evidence to satisfy itself that the public benefit requirement has been met. The direct benefits are that the site of The Enniskillen Remembrance Day bomb will be preserved and developed as a permanent memorial to that tragic event through the facilitation of
vocational training for young adults from cross community backgrounds, the provision of student accommodation for international students, provision and support for providers of programmes and activities focused on community well-being, reconciliation and development. This will be demonstrated through the number of beneficiaries, students, small businesses and community projects supported and facilitated annually There is no harm arising from the purposes. The beneficiaries are local and international students, local community, peace building and festival/art groups and businesses. The incidental and private benefit from our purpose is the positive benefit to the local community and stakeholders of the meaningful and fitting legacy of the site being used for peace and prosperity building.
