Review of fundraising regulation
Fundraising, a vital activity for many charities, is the process of gathering donations of money or resources from individuals, businesses, government or other organisations.
Fundraising by charities is largely regulated by the sector itself, a system which is known as ‘self-regulation’. However, this system is currently being reviewed.
To support your understanding of the ongoing review, the proposed changes to the regulation of fundraising and the potential impact on charities in Northern Ireland, the Commission has produced a short briefing paper. This paper is available to read or download below.

The Commission will produce fuller guidance on charity fundraising later this year.
