Charity no. 110248 Date registered. 31/01/2025

Public benefits

The direct benefits flowing from these purposes are that children and young people will develop their physical skills and aerobic capacity and have improved physical and emotional health. Young people will benefit from social inclusion and will build their confidence and self-esteem through participation in sport and social activities and will be

encouraged to adopt healthy and active lifestyles. Volunteering and social responsibility will be encouraged and capacity will be built within the local community to address its own needs. These benefits will be demonstrated by feedback from participants, players, volunteers and the general public obtained through such methods as public consultations, interviews, group discussions, focus groups, surveys and questionnaires around the benefits of activities, plus discussion at club and AGM meetings. The benefits will be identified by evaluations of our activities, programmes and services and feedback from other agencies and stakeholders and partner organisations. We will also monitor information such as participant numbers within sessions, membership, retention of members and links with other programmes, organisations and agencies. The effectiveness and benefits of our activities will be reported upon in our annual report and the annual accounts. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes. The charity’s beneficiaries are principally the children and young people living in the Fermanagh and Omagh district Council area, and also children and young people from outside of the geographic district. We may in the future also develop projects which benefit and address the needs of other groups within the local community, especially those who are disadvantaged. There is no private benefit.

What your organisation does

Ballinamallard Youth Soccer Development (BYSD) facilitate sporting and community activity for young people particularly across Fermanagh and the wider western area of Northern Ireland. BYSD is volunteer driven in terms of the management committee and coaches. Our core activity is football coaching for more than 250 children and young people aged

5-17 years old. The focus of BYSD is to provide young people from diverse backgrounds both girls and boys with the opportunity to participate in amateur sport and physical activity. Additional to our core function BYSD aims to develop social responsibility within the young people through community development initiatives e.g. diversionary activities to reduce anti-social behaviour, education, health and wellbeing i.e. drugs, alcohol, suicide awareness, nutrition workshops etc. We encourage and develop collaboration and partnership working between organisations working with young people and sharing of experience of knowledge between volunteers. Further to working with the young people, we aim to develop our volunteer workforce. Investment and development in the people who help run BYSD will ensure we can offer safe and first-rate services to young people and their families. We provide adequate facilities and the opportunity to enjoy healthier lifestyles and wellbeing. BYSD aim to stimulate positive rural community action to provide opportunities to tackle social exclusion and sporting opportunity. We carry out fundraising activities to promote charitable aims and objectives. BYSD is a cross community organisation and aim to contribute to positive community relations in Fermanagh and the wider western area of Northern Ireland.
