Public benefits
Helping Alopecia Trust provide a full support service to anyone that contacts our organisation regardless of sex, race, religion or age. We provide all members with an equal opportunity to interact with others, of mixed race, religion and ages, so that members can learn and gain confidence from hearing about other peoples experiences with
Alopecia. We treat every contact with our members equally and provide the much needed support to not only Alopecians, but also their families, friends and colleagues.

Helping Alopecia Trust provide support to Alopecians, their families, friends and colleagues by organising regular support meetings and host family fun days throughout the year providing the opportunity for anyone affected by Alopecia to attend and interact with other like minded people. Our awareness team actively attend schools and organisations
where we provide an educational presentation aimed at education children of all ages about the meaning of Alopecia, what it is and how it can affect Alopecians, their families and friends. This presentation is carried out on request from the school or organisation and in the past we have attended schools, play groups, Girl's Brigade, and other youth social groups such as Young Farmers. During 2014, we have now provided posters and fliers to every doctors surgery in Northern Ireland to provide information on our services. This has already proven extremely successful with 2014 being our highest income of members since our establishment in 2009. During 2013, we also distributed 4 copies of our first publication of 'Alecia - A Girl With No Hair' to every Primary and Secondary School in Northern Ireland. The book is a catalogue of experiences that our young character, Alecia, has experienced during her early years of living with Alopecia. In addition to the above, we purchase promotional items such branded pens, pencils etc., that are distributed at every opportunity to attract members of the public to view our website and therefore providing an opportunity to educate them on Alopecia.
