Public benefits

All the following services are provided for those living in the Craigavon Borough and its environs. An affordable flexible day care service for children aged 0-12 and their families The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are parents can work/return to work and or return to education. A club for children referred by Southern Health &

Social Care Trust Children with Disabilities Team aged 4-12 who have a range of learning disabilities and support needs. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are improved health and reduced stress levels for parents and one to one support for the child. Supported Contact Sessions for the Non-Resident Parent of separated families. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose is building the relationship between the non-resident parent and their child/ren. An art and craft facility for parents, groups, playgroups, community organisations, schools, youth groups, uniformed organisations and others working with children. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are recycling of non-toxic materials from local businesses and low cost supplies for craft work. To provide a comprehensive developmental support service (PAYE, policies and practice, funding applications and reports) for Childcare Member Groups in the Brownlow area of Craigavon. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose are good practice and community development. As an Access NI Registered Body provide a support service that enables Childcare Groups primarily operating in the Southern Health & Social Care Trust to obtain Enhanced Disclosure Certificates. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose provides employers information to enable them to make an informed recruitment decision. All these benefits are evidenced through an independent stakeholder’s consultation exercise defined in the business plan 2014 - 2017. No intended harm can come about from the benefits of this organisation. Private benefits include parental payments of childcare fees, membership fees and a low profit on art resources (which is then transferred back to the organisation) and an administration fee for Access NI checks, which is also transferred back to the organisation. These private benefits are incidental and necessary for the operation of the charity.

What your organisation does

Zero8Teen operates within a Social Economy Framework and is a local employer providing employment for approx. 30 employees in an area of high unemployment and social disadvantage. Zero8Teen is a non-profit making organisation and all profits are re-invested in its charitable purposes. The Charity’s beneficiaries are children, children with a

disability, families/parents, separated/non-resident parents, parents returning to education/employment, community groups/associations, schools and uniformed groups residing in the Craigavon Borough and its environs. The Child Contact Centre project relies heavily on the commitment of our volunteers. Ongoing support and supervision is provided alongside the opportunity to avail of appropriate training. Any benefits to committee members will be through training (i.e. child protection) and good governance to ensure a high standard of professional management.

Charitable purposes

3.1 The object of the Association shall be the provision of facilities for the recreation or other leisure-time occupation for children and young people aged under 18 resident primarily in Brownlow and secondary the Southern Health & Social Services Board area (hereinafter called the "area of benefit") being facilities - 3.1.1 of which such children and young people have need by reason of their youth or social and economic circumstances; and 3.1.2 which will improve the conditions of life for such children and young people by promoting their physical, mental and spiritual well being.
